Toronto rapper Nav is the third big act to adjust his local concert schedule to get out of the Raptors’ way — but this time, it’s his own idea.
Unlike Carrie Underwood or Twenty One Pilots, who had to reschedule and cancel, respectively, their shows at the Scotiabank Arena owing to the local team’s hosting of NBA Finals games, Nav was slated to play Echo Beach. But the gig’s date was Monday, June 10 — the same night that the Raptors will play the Golden State Warriors in Toronto in Game 5.
The Rexdale rapper/producer born Navraj Singh Goraya — whose album Bad Habits hit No. 1 on Billboard earlier this year — has pushed back his concert to Saturday, July 6, “in order for the city to come together and cheer on our team,” states a LiveNation news release.
All tickets for the old date will be honoured on the new one. Meanwhile, on June 10, Torontonians can watch not the rapper Nav, but Nav Bhatia, the Raptors’ conspicuous courtside superfan.
