One person dead and one in life-threatening condition after four-vehicle crash in southern Ontario

BRUSSELS, ONT.—Provincial police say one person is dead and another is in life-threatening condition after a four-vehicle crash in southern Ontario.

Police say the incident happened at about 8 p.m. Thursday just north of Brussels, Ont., when a compact car entered an intersection and struck a tractor-trailer.

The tractor-trailer then struck a pickup truck, which was also hit by an SUV.

Police say a passenger in the pickup truck — identified as 62-year-old Jamie Hill from Sauble Beach, Ont. — was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup remained in hospital Friday afternoon with life-threatening injuries.

The drivers of all three other vehicles involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.
