Lemonade Day Returns to Swan Hills

Lemonade Day is back in 2021! Swan Hills had their first Lemonade Day experience on June 22, 2019, and it was a huge hit! Our town had the biggest turnout in the Community Futures Yellowhead East region, with the most youth registered. Our young entrepreneurs had a great time, and the community turned out to support them in a big way.

On June 19, 2021, Swan Hills youth will once again have the opportunity to participate in this event. Registration is currently open until June 1. Lemonade Day is a free program that is open to youth from Kindergarten through High School. Participants will learn valuable skills around how to start, own, and operate their very own business.

Lemonade Day starts with getting registered on the Lemonade Day website (lemonadeday.org/registration/signin). Soon a date, time, and location will be announced for Lemonade University. During this information session, the participants will be given a backpack containing a workbook that will help teach them all they need to know about setting goals and planning for their Lemonade Stand. The instructor at “Lemmy U” will help guide the program participants through the material in the workbook, with discussions on important topics such as:

· How to choose a business partner

· Designing their stand

· Deciding on a business location to place their stand

· Food safety information

· Advertising

· Creating a budget

Participants will then build their stands and make their preparations for the big day on June 19. Participating youth get to keep their profits and have the chance to win prizes for Area Best Entrepreneur, Area Best Tasting Lemonade, Area Best Lemonade Stand, and Regional Entrepreneur of the Year.

We can’t wait to see everyone out there for Lemonade Day this year!
